Vancouver Balboa Mini Fest is a dance exchange focused on the rhythmic, intimate swing era dances Balboa and Bal Swing, held in Vancouver, BC (Canada) from October 23 to 25, 2026. The weekend takes place at the historic Commercial Drive Legion (Branch #179), Upper Hall – a venue with a beautiful sprung wood floor located in the heart of East Vancouver, just a 5-minute walk from the Commercial-Broadway SkyTrain station. The event centers on social dancing across three days, with a selection of intermediate-level classes taught by an assortment of instructors (students should be comfortable with balboa basics: up- and downhold basics, ad lib steps, out and ins, lollies, and tossouts). Private lessons with instructors are also available. The schedule includes: Friday evening class + evening dance with live band; Saturday daytime classes, afternoon dance/practice session, evening dance with live band, and late-night dance; Sunday daytime classes and afternoon dance with live band. Passes range from CAD $100 (Budget) to $150 (Generous) for the full Dance Pass; classes are an additional CAD $100. Single-event and one-day passes will be available closer to the date. Volunteer passes (8–10 hours of work in exchange for free entry) and Industry Passes for full-time dancers and musicians are also available on request. Registration opens in May 2026.
