SWINGdepenDANCE is a multi-day swing dance workshop and social event held annually in Mesa, Arizona over the 4th of July weekend. The event combines intensive workshops, social dancing, competitions, and live music experiences, bringing together dancers from across the United States. Activities include pool parties, DJ-led social dances, live band nights, and structured classes focused on Lindy Hop, solo jazz, and related styles. The event also hosts the Arizona Swing Dance Championships, featuring prelims and finals, as well as fun contests like the Wet and Wild Solo Jazz competition. Classes are designed for various levels and emphasize musicality, connection, rhythm, and improvisation rooted in Black American jazz dance traditions. Evening dances extend late into the night with DJs and live bands, creating a vibrant and immersive swing dance environment.
