In un'Italia travolta dal pop sintetico, tre ragazzini catanesi guidati dal furore giovanile di Orazio Grillo (Brando / Boppin' Horatio) alla chitarra e voce, insieme alla batteria indiavolata di Emilio Catera (The Insane) e al contrabbasso di Blasco Mirabella (The Razor), decidono di fare l'esatto contrario di quello che passa la TV. Infilano i giubbotti di pelle, alzano i ciuffi e tirano a lucido gli strumenti per sparare un sound che fonde la radice anni '50 dei pionieri americani con la velocissima rabbia del punk e l'oscurità del primo psychobilly. Il Culto Europeo: Go Wild! e Just for Fun Nel 1985 esce il disco d'esordio "Go Wild!", seguito a ruota nel 1986 dal capolavoro "Just for Fun". I Boppin' Kids non chiedono il permesso: entrano a gamba tesa nella scena internazionale. Diventano giovanissimi un vero e proprio fenomeno di culto tra i Teddy Boys, i Greasers e i Psychobillies di tutta Europa, condividendo i palchi dei festival più selvaggi con i mostri sacri del genere (dai Meteors ai Batmobile, fino ai Guana Batz e agli Stray Cats). Brando alla chitarra snocciola assoli affilati come rasoi, mentre la sezione ritmica picchia uno slap bass forsennato che diventa il marchio di fabbrica della band.
