Stardust Slow Balboa Weekend is the only U.S. event dedicated entirely to Slow Balboa, held at the iconic Spanish Ballroom inside the historic Glen Echo Park near Washington D.C. Now in its third year, the 2026 edition offers approximately ten hours of progressive workshops across four levels — Beginner/Advanced Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and an invite/audition-only Masters track — led by six international swing dance instructors: Kelly Arsenault, Mickey Fortanasce, Grace Babbes, Blake Thiessen, Amanda Gerken and Connor Cole. The weekend features two nights of live music with a mix of tempos for all styles of swing dance and a special focus on slow music, lectures on the history of Slow Balboa and slow swing dancing with clips of old-timer dancers, insights into slow swing music history from DJs and musicians, and both Amateur and Open Strictly Slow Balboa competitions. Glen Echo Park is a preserved former amusement park, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, featuring one of the finest historic maple dance floors in the Washington D.C. area.
