The Slow Bal Workshop is a Balboa-focused weekend in Winterthur from October 31 to November 1, 2026, organized by Swingscouts and taught by Elena & Alberto from Italy. Slow Bal, or Slow Balboa, refers to various dance styles danced to slow tempos, including classic styles from Dean and Nancy Raftery and modern variations shaped by Mickey Fortanasce and Kelly Arsenault. Elena & Alberto are celebrated for their elegant and harmonious style, drawing on a background in contemporary dance and swing, with a focus on flowing dynamics and unbroken connection. Both Saturday and Sunday offer three 2-hour lessons across Basic, Intermediate and Advanced levels at the Swingstation, which can be booked individually or combined, except the Sunday Basic lesson which builds on Saturday's. On Saturday evening, a special Fast Feet Floor party edition called Fast'n'Slow takes place at the Kellertheater Winterthur, featuring live music by The Sascha Kommer Celesta Trio, blending slow Balboa tunes with faster Shag and Balboa music in a warm, jazzy 1940s-50s inspired sound.
