Get ready for inspiring and fun classes with Teresa and Nicholas! Teresa Fernandé Nicholas Taipa Teresa discovered swing dancing in 2019. It wasn’t long before she knew she wanted to learn everything about it. Having been surrounded by music since childhood, she quickly learned the basics and became interested in various swing dance styles, including Lindy Hop, Collegiate Shag, Balboa, and Solo Charleston. Since then, she has won the Fast Feet Endurance competition at the BCN Shag Festival three consecutive times and has placed in Balboa, Collegiate Shag, and Lindy Hop competitions. In addition, she has been teaching at Vintage Club in Munich since 2022, as well as at other swing dance events. Today, she continues to develop her passion for swing dancing through competing, teaching, and sharing the joy of dance with her students. Nicholas has been teaching dance professionally since 2009. He started instructing ballroom, transitioned to Argentine Tango (won the US Championships), then stumbled into swing where he ended up winning a few Lindy, Shag, and Balboa competitions and coaching a team along the way. After a pandemic detour into other projects and then some world traveling, he’s back to dancing and teaching in places like Japan, Korea, Lithuania, Germany, and California. He believes partner dancing is one of the best things a person can do for themselves and their community. The Swing Service are musicians who see jazz as an open art form: communicative, accessible and contemporary. The band combines vocals, trombone, piano, double bass and drums to create a sound that is rooted in tradition while also looking to the future. Their repertoire includes selected jazz standards, interpreted with respect for history and the courage to add their own signature, presented in a variety of tempos that are perfect for dancing. The Swing Service breathes new life into classics and shows how timeless swing really is. In doing so, they pursue a clear goal: to bring jazz out of its niche and into everyday life. Their music is intended to move, surprise and, above all, be accessible – for connoisseurs and newcomers alike. ☆ live Saturday night: The Swing Service feat. Antonia Dikhoff ☆
