Two swing communities, one dance floor: an occasion to share laughs, moves, and good times! The exchange will take place in two separate moments: From 17 to 19th April, the Lindy Cats swing community from Graz will come to Trieste. We will host them, show them the beauty of the city and, of course, make them dance! In October it will be the turn of the Swing Freaks to go to Graz and do the same. What’s happening Friday, April 17 Arrival in Trieste: welcome your new friend from Graz, hosts! 9:00 PM Friday Party Night (live band “The Jackpots”) We’ll meet in an amazing venue: Sala Beethoven in via Coroneo, 15. A historic space that once hosted the “Circolo Artistico di Trieste”, created to give local artists a place in the cultural scene. Live band: The Jackpots, a well-known Slovenian band in the swing scene, bringing their jump blues and ’40s–’50s swing sound together! Bring clean dance shoes (the floor will thank you) Saturday, April 18 10:30 AM–12:30 PM Urban Game in the city center (Full Pass only) We’ll explore Trieste together through games, small challenges and beautiful city views. The perfect way to start getting to know each other. Lunch Break We’ll share a list of community-recommended places (all options included: local, vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.) 3:30 PM To Miramare castle (optional) For those with extra energy: visit Miramare Castle, one of Trieste’s most iconic spots. 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM Workshop time (Full Pass only) With Špela Premelč, Nejc Zupan and Francesc Bujosa, active performers on the European swing scene. 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM Easy Dinner (Full Pass only) A rich buffet with pizza and finger food. We’ve noted your dietary preferences — you’ll find something for you 9:00 PM – 2:00 AM Saturday Party Night (live band “Swing à la Carte”) We move to Opicina, in the Karst plateau. Location: SKD Tabor, in via Nazionale 51. On stage: “Swing à la Carte”, bringing the sound of ’30s–’40s swing-jazz to the dance floor. Sunday, April 19 10:30 AM Walk along the Napoleonica We meet at the Obelisk in Opicina for a panoramic walk with a sea view. If the weather doesn’t cooperate → plan B: Grotta Gigante. 12:30 PM Lunch in Osmiza We head into the vineyards of the Karst, to Agriturismo Budin, località Sales 122. We close the weekend the Triestine way: around a table, with local wine, simple food, shared stories and a few last hugs before heading home. After lunch… hugs, kisses and see you soon (in Graz!)
